Earth Hour – The world’s biggest movement to protect the planet.
Challenge
Earth Hour launched in Sydney in March 2007 at 8:30 pm. It asked people and businesses to switch off their lights for just one hour to see the difference they could make in energy consumption.
Goal
Now each year hundreds of millions of people around the world in more than 7,000 cities in over 190 countries take part by switching off for 60 minutes as a symbolic gesture of solidarity, to show they care about our planet's future.
Solution
A worldwide community of millions supporting stronger action on climate change while symbolically demonstrating support for a renewable future for the world.
